This is a lyrics reference, not a religious authority
AartiLyrics publishes the words of traditional Hindu aartis, stotras, chalisas and shlokas, with transliteration and meaning. It is compiled with care, but it is a reference site. It does not speak for any temple, sampradaya, math or religious institution, and it is not connected to any of the shrines whose aartis appear on it.
Variant readings are normal
Devotional texts are living things. The same aarti is sung with different words in different regions, in different families and in different printed editions, and a difference is usually a variant rather than a mistake. Where publishers disagree on a line, the page says so. If the version you grew up with differs from the one here, that does not make yours wrong, and we would genuinely like to hear about it so the page can record both readings.
Meanings and translations
The meanings on this site are explanations written to help a reader understand what they are reciting. They are not authoritative commentary and they are not a substitute for a guru, a priest or a scholarly edition. Sanskrit in particular carries layers of meaning that a short paragraph cannot hold, and anyone studying a text seriously should go to a proper commentary.
Ritual guidance
Where a page mentions when a text is traditionally recited, that is a description of common practice, not an instruction. Ritual varies by region, community and family custom. Follow your own tradition, and ask the elders of your family or your temple priest where you need guidance.
